Chiraagh Vocational Training School
Chiraagh Vocational Training School (CVTS) is a vocational training center in Basti Dhup Sari, Multan. CVTS aspires to equip the youth of suburban areas of Pakistan with skills to earn with dignity, support their families and achieve unfulfilled dreams.
CVTS’s foundation was laid in July 2018 and the first floor was completed in October 2020. In the early years, we focused on the development of girls/women of Basti Dhup Sari but later programs were introduced to engage the male youth of the area too.

At CVTS, students not only learn stitching or embroidery but we are providing these girls a space to learn to read and write through our adult/functional literacy program, harness their creativity, boost their confidence, keep themselves abreast to changing world through digital literacy program, have an active mind by playing indoor games.

Facilities at CVTS:
Basic Stitching Unit:
Our Basic Stitching Unit caters to the newly enrolled students into our dressmaking course. The unit is equipped with 25 singer machines with electric motors. It is supervised by very talented and experienced stitching master Mr. Abdur Razzaq who is also a resident of nearby town, Tatay Pur.
During the course, students learn different types of stitching techniques and measurement skills which are not limited to famous Saraki dori, tirpayi, firaqs and collars. The course caters to both male and female dressmaking.
Advanced Stitching Unit:
This unit became operational in October 2021 after almost a year of CVTS’ inauguration. This unit consists of 14 Jockey industrial machines supervised by Mr. Amjad Ali who is a resident of nearby town, Basti Bohar near Multan. Mr. Amjad specializes in modern dressmaking and is the head of production on advanced stitching unit.
This unit caters to the students who have successfully completed their basic dressmaking course. The students are taken through advanced stitching, cutting and dress designing techniques. Not only that, this unit also acts as a production facility for the bulk orders received by CVTS by external organizations
Library:
The library was inaugurated in October 2020 at CVTS with a vision to inculcate the habit of book-reading in the community. The library contains more than 600 books on diverse topics which were collected by social media campaigns from the Friends of Chiraagh.
During the first half of the day, CVTS students attend a learning session at the library where they read the book of their choice. It remains open for the community after 4pm. The members of the community can read or borrow the books free of cost from the library.
Sheikh Qamar-ul-Haq Computer Lab:
The computer lab at CVTS is named after Sheikh Qamar-ul-Haq (Late). It became operational with the generous donation of the aforementioned friend of Chiraagh in October 2021. It consists of 8 computers with internet connected and equipped with software and tools for our Digital literacy program.
This lab aims to work as a learning space for those members of the community who do not have access to digital modes of learning and safe learning environment at their homes. It hosts our digital literacy program consisting of Microsoft Office training, hands on InPage, Graphic designing and freelancing
Gaming Room:
At CVTS, we believe in recreational mode of learning so we not only care about the professional growth but also mental and physical growth of our students. Keeping this vision in mind, we have set up a gaming room for our student consisting of Carrom board, Ludo, Chess, Jhenga along with a badminton court.
During the break-time our students are instructed and supervised by the school management to take active part in sports challenging the taboo of female participation in sports.

At CVTS, we not only focus on teaching the skills but also provide income sources to our graduates and students. Keeping the vision to empower the community and reduce the financial inequalities, we try to bring in bulk orders from third party organizations to provide employment to our highly skilled graduates.
