16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pakistan and the Government of Punjab launched their 16 Days of Activism campaign against gender-based violence. It is an annual international event organized on the International Day of the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The organizers hosted a panel discussion, pledge wall, and campus walk at The City School Kasur Campus in collaboration with Milkar.

The president of CVTS, Maham Munir, was invited as the panelist. She participated in the panel discussion to highlight the issues women face and possible measures that can be taken to cope with gender-based violence. She reflected the values and vision of Chiraagh as the very purpose of Chiraagh is to empower women.

She stressed upon the functioning and projects of Chiraagh that solely focus on skill-based training and nourishing them with an adult literacy program. Lastly, she concluded by sharing her remarks on how we can join hands in fighting gender-based violence and empower our women as a society.
